Every professional knows that the key to a successful project lies in the tools they use. When it comes to cabinet installation, the difference between a flawless finish and an unsatisfactory job often boils down to having the right cabinet installation tool. Viking Arm® has designed the Cabinet Installation Kit (CIK), specifically to address the needs of tradesmen seeking precision and efficiency. Let’s explore how Viking Arm’s cabinet installation tool can elevate your workflow, and share some tips to help you achieve perfect installations every time.
How do Viking Arm’s cabinet installation tool enhance your workflow?
Precision and stability
The Viking Arm® Cabinet Installation Kit (CIK) offers incredible precision, which is critical to ensure that cabinets are level and securely fastened. The kit enables millimetre adjustments, allowing you to achieve perfect alignment, even on uneven surfaces. This level of precision prevents the most common problems, like tilted shelves or misaligned doors, that can arise from less accurate tools.
One-man operation
One of the standout features of the Cabinet Installation Kit (CIK) for the Viking Arm, is its ability to facilitate one-man operations. The kit can lift cabinets up to 60 cm (23.7 inches) and hold up to 50 kg (110 lbs) per kit. This enables a single tradesman to effortlessly manage tasks that typically require two or more people. Not only does the CIK reduce the number of operations needed to install cabinets, but it also reduces the need for extra hands. This effectively saves time and lowers labor costs, making it an invaluable cabinet installation tool for smaller teams or solo professionals.
Secure gripping
The Viking Arm® Cabinet Installation Kit includes a non-slip base pad and lifting pad, ensuring the protection of the surfaces and the stability and security of your cabinets as you work. This reduces the risk of accidental slips or movements, which can compromise the quality of the installation. The secure grip provided by these pads ensures that the cabinets stay in place during the installation process, allowing for a seamless and stress-free experience.
Note that the Lifting pad that is included is not to be used together with the CIK, but is a protective non-slip pad that may be used directly on the Viking Arm lifting bars when you do not need to use the CIK but still want to protect the surface or need the non-slip function. Especially suited for lifting glass, metal, and all kinds of surfaces that need protection.
Compatibility with regular Viking Arm (not Viking Arm Long)
The Cabinet Installation Kit (CIK) is compatible with regular Viking Arms (not Viking Arm Long). If the CIK feels too tight, you may grind a larger opening for the fitting according to your preference.
Tips for perfect cabinet installations every time
Plan your layout
Before you begin the installation process, it’s crucial to plan your layout carefully. Measure the space where the cabinets will be installed, and make a note of any irregularities or potential obstacles. Having a clear plan will guide your installation process, and help you avoid costly mistakes.
Use a laser level
For achieving perfectly level cabinets, consider using a laser level in conjunction with the Viking Arm® Cabinet Installation Kit. A laser level provides a precise reference line, ensuring that your cabinets are installed at the correct height and alignment. This tool can be particularly helpful in achieving a cohesive look across multiple cabinets.
Place the cabinet on top of the CIKs and complete the fastening
Mount the Viking Arm® Cabinet Installation Kit (CIK) onto your Viking Arms. Adjust the telescopic height of the CIK to approximately the installation height. Place the Viking Arms with the CIK on the desk. Place the cabinet on top of the CIKs. Adjust height and level with millimeter precision and fasten the cabinets directly to the wall.
All you now have to do for the next cabinets is to move the two Viking Arms with CIK to the next position. Place the next cabinet on top of the CIKs. Fine adjust/level. Fasten the cabinet. Do next…
Utilize the non-slip pads
Make full use of the non-slip protective base pad and lifting pad included in the CIK. These pads protect the surfaces and add additional stability, preventing the cabinets from moving or slipping during installation. The top of the CIK has an integrated pad. Additionally, the CIK comes with a Base pad to place under the feet of the Viking Arm protecting the surface. It also comes with another “stand-alone” Lifting pad that may be placed on the Viking Arms lifting bars when you don’t need the CIK but still want to protect the surface or utilize the non-slip function on the material you are lifting. Ideal for glass, metal, and fragile materials.
